Born in West Orange, New Jersey, Roy grew up in Florida and graduated from the New York Institute of Photography. His training included portraiture, landscape, weddings, commercial, real estate and interiors.
Following a career working for government, private business and in his own business in partnership with his wife, Yolanda, Roy became the official photographer for the PGA tour in 1981. Roy also became the official photographer for many PGA sponsors such as Office Depot, ADT-Donald Trump, LPGA, General Foods, Verizon, Phillip Morris, Mopar/Chrysler, Compaq and American Express.
As in-house photographer at two prestigious Florida resorts, Roy had the opportunity to photograph two US Presidents among other dignitaries. Roy and Yolanda went on to found a still and video production company and continued to travel around the world working for their corporate clients. After years of traveling, never-ending deadlines, and raising two lovely daughters, Roy and Yolanda discovered Cape Breton. They fell in love with the island and built a bed and breakfast on the Cabot Trail, The Sea Parrot Oceanview Manor. “We never thought in our wildest dreams that there would be a first-class convention and meeting facility built in our area and that I would have the opportunity to be involved in this extraordinary site,” says Roy. |
